Just a few more pictures from our walk yesterday. Notice how much dirtier the toy is now that my girls have gotten a hold of it? I bet Kort wouldn't even touch it now!
Lacey and Jackie play quite a bit at home these days but only if I can keep Coulee out of it. Generally this isn't a problem, because Coulee always picks fetch over wrestling.
One of Lacey's favorite games is stealing Coulee's toy. Not because she wants to play with it, but just because she knows Coulee wants it.
And just one more example of the Amazing Lacey - the world's first flying dog.

Off Leash Fun
I took Jackie on an off-leash walk today - our first together. I didn't think she'd be a problem as she is pretty much a velcro dog. My biggest worry was that she wouldn't get far enough away from me for a photo!
She was a little nervous at first (at least that is what I think 3 poops in 3 minutes indicates!) but she quickly decided to venture from my side. She alternated between running with the girls and sticking close beside me.
As usual, my girls had a blast.
It doesn't look like Lacey spent much time actually touching the ground!

The big herd
Writing on Stone
Jolene and I ventured out to Writing on Stone today. She moved here more than a year ago and had still never been there. I hope the scenery blew her away - it is amazing there.
We took the dogs down the Hoodoo Trail and they had a great time at the end racing around near the river (don't tell anyone they were off leash!) There was only one other group of people there when we were so the park was pretty quiet.
Tate wouldn't stop staring and barking at my pocket that had food until I finally gave him one.
Kort and Lacey enjoy tugging on a stick.Lacey isn't normally a big fan of toys but she was sure happy to have the little Raspberry. She paraded it around for quite some time - much to Coulee's dismay.
Me and the girls.
Just the girls

Adventures at Popson
Sandy found an old e-mail the other day from when I took her dogs on their first off-leash walk (their first with me any way). I obviously had a tonne of spare time in those days as I sure don't go into this much detail anymore!

Hi Sandy,
Everything went really well.
I picked them up around 1 pm. I couldn't find their leash but I had an extra one in the car so it was okay. I left an invoice behind - I slipped it under the BBQ burner cover.
Duke was a little vocal in the car on the way there but he was much more relaxed and quiet on the way home. I think he was a little tired by that point! Duke and Coulee got along really well, while Sadie only had eyes for Duke. We went straight to the river because it was so hot and the mosquitoes were so plentiful. Duke and Coulee had a great time splashing through the water while Sadie ran up and down the edge of the shore. I've
never actually seen dogs wrestle IN the water before. They made quite the splash. It was so cute to watch Sadie go after Duke's ears every time he shook off. They all ran out of sight a few times but came back when I whistled and called. It didn't take them too long to figure out a treat was always waiting for them.
On days with good weather, I generally bring my camera. The mosquitoes were quite bad so I wasn't able to get many "calmer" shots of the dogs - the water seems to bring out their hyperness - and I could not bear to crouch in the grass. None of these are great but some are quite cute. It also gives you an idea on what they all did together.

A Difference in Opinion
Jolene, Kort and I went to Nicholas Sheran this afternoon for some picture taking. Kort was a trouper - he sat still for the "show" pictures Jolene wanted and ran around with toys and acted goofy for the pictures I like. These are my favourites - which I'm sure will be completely different from Jolene's.
I love the way Jolene looks like she is praying... "Please, let Kort be a good boy... even if just for one day!" :)
Thanks Jolene for the opportunity to take pictures somewhere other than the daycare! I hope you like them!

Home Alone...
...and loving every moment of doing nothing!
I did manage to drag myself out of the house today to go to a mini-seminar on jumping. The girls did great. Lacey was pretty funny trying to get the treat under the jump while still going over the jump (she may have sat on the bar a few times...) and Coulee was pretty motivated to do anything I asked provided "baby Cuz" was there for her reward. We all had a pretty good time and learned a few things too.
But then the real fun began. I rented a few episodes of Bones (which I had never really watched before), made a tea and grabbed my knitting. I'm knitting myself a sweater and it has been years since I've knit a sweater and I don't think I've ever knit myself one. I usually like smaller projects that I can finish before my attention span peters out.
Coulee was wishing that she was home alone. Lacey was on the pillow so she had to do what she could to find comfort without actually touching her. First she hovered over her hoping she would take the hint and leave, then she attempted to figure out how to lay around her before she finally decided the best she could do was cuddle up next to the pillow. You'd think there was only one dog bed in the house.

Too long
You know when you take too long to blog and then you have so much to say, you can barely say anything? Well that is kind of how I am at the moment.
I went to Vancouver for a 4 day weekend. It was great. I visited with my family and a good friend I hadn't seen in a few years. The weather sucked (when doesn't it in Vancouver) but the company was great and the food was yummy.
