Kickin' Back - A to Z Challenge

Today is a horrible, rainy day.  If you live in Vancouver or Seattle, it is a "normal" day and you go about life as usual.  If you live in southern Alberta, it is the kind of day where you stay home, get under the covers and wait for it to pass.  So guess what we did today....

You gotta claim your spot in bed before it is too late.

It takes a while for Jack to settle in and he doesn't normally stay in one spot for long.  I think he wanders around trying to determine where he can be the most annoying.

Coulee was giving me the sad, guilt inducing, look the whole time.  It didn't work... it is too wet outside to consider a walk.

And some of us took getting comfortable to a whole new level.

It was a great mid-day break from work... too bad I have to go back.  If you are wondering where Lu was during all this, she was curled up in my laundry bin.

Inspiration - A to Z Challenge

When it comes to taking pictures, I am inspired from a lot of different sources.

But when it comes to actually picking up the camera, Coulee and Lacey inspire me the most (in case you couldn't tell!).  I rarely go out for a walk with them without my camera and whenever I see a new gadget, or learn a new technique, my first thought is how can I make that work with them.

Some days though, I get tired of the same old thing. Same dogs, same place, same toys.  It takes me a bit to shake it up and do something different.  Today, I passed the camera to Coulee and let her inspire me.  She does a pretty good job of showing me what can be done with a different lens and different angles.

I think I need to shoot into the sun more.  I love this picture below and it is one I never would have taken.

Just Coulee

For whatever reason, Coulee was giving me weird expressions at the end of the walk yesterday.  Not sure what was up.  She looks almost annoyed and doesn't really look like herself. Maybe she was annoyed we weren't playing fetch.  Or maybe the short period of fetch at the river,\ bothered her feet.  It was so nice to have her swimming in clean water again, but not so nice to have her running on rocks.  If I could find a sandy beach on the river, it would be perfect!

Goof - A to Z Challenge

This is not at all what I was planning on writing about today but Coulee is NOT a goofy kind of dog, so when she started goofing around today, I couldn't resist.

We were down by the river and there was a fairly large piece of driftwood on the shore.  Coulee ran to it and did her "Will you please throw this?" look, so just for fun, I told her to "Bring it".

She tried, and tried and tried.

And when she couldn't carry it, she tried to make it lighter by ripping chunks off it.

Then she tried some more.

Then she thought she'd see if maybe we would just come to it.

She eventually spotted another piece that was smaller and brought that one instead.

So of course I had to chuck it 2 feet so she would be rewarded for her efforts.  So then she picked it up and brought it to Marlin so he could play too.  LOL

When fetch is involved, this girl is determined!

Feet - A to Z Challenge

I've been more than a little obsessed with Coulee's feet this past year and a half.  While the problem hasn't been fixed, or even figured out, I'm happy to say that she is still running around and getting them muddy.  :)
