Me and Coulee

The challenge this week for the "52 Weeks for Dogs" group on flickr was to get a picture of you and your dog. I decided to go for a more traditional portrait. It was harder than I thought! I was smart and worked with a tired dog (we just got back from the river) so she stayed wonderfully. The problem was us both looking good at the same time. I ended up going with one of our bloopers as I quite liked the non-traditional portrait feel about it, and the way you couldn't really see either of us well. :) Exactly the opposite of what I was going for. Funny eh?

Here are some of the more portrait-like ones.

I think I look good, but notice the death grip on her fur and the look of "get me out of here" on her face?

Again, Coulee is trying her best to pretend I'm not there touching her

Coulee looks a little wired and at the last minute she brought up her ears to block half my face (and again with the death grip). The deadline for the week is today and it is getting dark, so no more attempts for us! It will be something I try again though.

Very cute! I loved the challenge...it took a lot of coordination...and I totally did the death grip with my dogs, too. I actually ended up having Stella in what I'm sure looked like a headlock (she was just laying down, and I put my arm around her and hugged)

Well this just proves it -- some of the best photos out there are bloopers. Though the poses ones are pretty darn good, too. :)
