Marlin

I don't take many photos of Marlin - mainly because I don't take many photos of people.  But it also doesn't help that Marlin can't fake a smile at all.  And I mean at all.  We used to have a phrase that would crack him up instantly but we both managed to forget what it was.  LOL.  So now it is back to painful smiles.

But today he just acted naturally and I didn't push it.  I love the fall colours, but I really like the black and whites.  The last one is my favourite.

Lots and Lots of Teeth!

Wresting photos always make them look so nasty!

Thanks for coming along Vito!  Lacey had a blast and was exhausted all evening.

Play Date

Amanda suggested I bring Vito along on my walk yesterday so he and Lacey could play. They don't get to see each other very much any more and when we ran into them the other day, Lacey was too overwhelmed to let loose and play.  They had so much fun.

It started off with Coulee fetching while the little ones ran and wrestled.

Vito got a mad case of the zoomies and just took off!  He isn't know for his speed on an agility field (he likes to trot) but he was just flying out there.

Vito normally barks at Coulee.  But yesterday the roles were reversed.  Whenever Vito got the toy he didn't want to let it go.  Coulee was getting more than a little impatient.

I love Vito's sideways eyes.

Vito is walking off to hoard the toy!

Yes it really was that windy.  The sand was flying everywhere!  I have lots of squinting photos and if you look closely you can see all the grains of sand flying by Lacey.

Coulee is getting really tired of this game!

My new camera can do multiple exposures and combine them in camera - no editing required.  I was struggling to get the dogs in position, throw the toy and push the button.  With Vito as competition Coulee wasn't doing her usual thing so our rhythm was off.  This will be much easier with someone else there or even with just Coulee.  But even with my limited success, I could tell this was going to be fun!

Oh V.  I do love you.

Nice Coulee.  Really nice.

Vito's dirty little secret.  Coulee does NOT look impressed with how he is treating the toy.  LOL

This is how Coulee prefers things - little ones wrestling, toy firmly in her mouth.

Near the end the little ones started playing in earnest.  Wrestling photos coming tomorrow.  Despite appearances they really do like each other!

The Pressure

This is going to seem weird, but suddenly with a new camera I feel pressure for my photos to be instantly better and more interesting.  But I still have the same skills and my dogs still do the same things and really nothing much has changed, but I still feel like I should be better than I was.  Silly I know, but it is kind of taking the fun out of things.  I need to just relax and enjoy things again.

Does this camera make my nose look big?

Coulee's patience is wearing thin.

Lacey looking larger than life.

I feel a sassy bark coming on.

This is the first decent access to the lake on the route we take.  Coulee is still asking to go in every time we pass it.  But she won't go in unless I throw the toy which is nice because I don't want a pup-sicle.

Kisses

She's really got to learn to tilt her head the other way to catch these.

Dry, yet wet.  Very weird.

Does the little bumpy things under her chin kind of gross out anyone else?  LOL

Searching for ground squirrels. She hasn't quite given up hope that they haven't gone underground for the winter.

A rare side view of Lacey - almost impossible for me to catch on my own - she is an out and back kind of girl.

She might look big, but the grass really isn't very tall.
