Farmer's Field

Now that summer has arrived, sneaking into a small provincial park to let the girls run off leash, is no longer an option.  So now, in my quest to let the girls off leash, yet avoid other dogs, I'm visiting a farmer's field that is above the dog park.  The farmer (I'm assuming) has driven along the side of his field enough to make it unable to sustain a crop so this is what we walk down for the first 100 meters until there is a break in the fence and we can safely get back onto City property.

We are then able to walk along the top of the coulees and look down at the almost deserted dog park and river.  It isn't a very far walk but at the moment it is more than enough.

Yesterday we snuck into the field briefly because the crop (I'm thinking hay - not actually sure what it is) was the perfect height for Lacey - not too tall, but still nice and thick.  Unfortunately Lacey wouldn't do anything but eat the crop. So much for causing minimal impact! LOL.  I'm going to have to go back later and try again when I've brought food or a fun toy or something.

Coulee didn't mind going in and exploring a bit though.  I love the second shot above with her head down and tail up.

If this is the crop Lacey was in also I believe you are in a wheat field:). Love the lush colors!

Haha! Thanks Jenilee. If it isn't canola in full bloom, I have no idea what it is. :)

Such a beautiful spot to romp and play. I wish we had a place near us like that.
