Metacam is my Hero

So I'll save the details of my talk with the dermatologist for later (it isn't that exciting) but one thing that finally got addressed was that her pain meds weren't working and that she seemed to be in constant pain.  She asked me how I knew that, and while it sounded a little silly just to say that she was walking up stairs instead of running and that her sister was beating her back in the house after I call them inside, I knew it was true.

We'd been avoiding Metacam because it can be hard on a dog's kidneys and she has had such weird blood results with regards to her kidney levels but a few days on Metacam just to see if it makes any sort of difference isn't going to hurt.

It made a HUGE difference. More than I could have imagined.  I got my girl back and boy oh boy did she let loose!  I may have even cried a little.  :)

I can probably count on two hands the number of times Coulee's back feet have left the ground during a catch during the past 8 years.  If anything was an indication of feeling good - this was it.

The bald patch you see is just from her allergy testing.
PS - I discovered yesterday while looking at these photos that I must have some sort of "Sky" filter on one of my camera lenses.  LOL.  What a difference between the photos at the top (taken with one lens) and these last few (taken with another).

PPS - The toys from Bionic also arrived.  Coulee is having fun with the "baby" frisbee.

I always have metacam on hand for Wilson's shoulder/back issues. I try to use it as little as possible, but it a blessing when he really needs it. Glad it brought some much needed relief for Coulee!

I am glad you mentioned your lens as I was going to ask if your skies really look like that. They are gorgeous!

awww I'm so happy Coulee feels better!!
Maybe you & the vet can figure out something where she can take small breaks from the meds to give her kidneys a break, looks like pros may out weigh the cons in this case
