At Long Last

The ground squirrels have come out of hibernation and Lacey couldn't be more thrilled.  She couldn't believe her ears when she heard the first little chirp but then it finally dawned on her that her favourite rodents were back.

Can you believe that the dog that hates to be first (and who's favourite spot is tucked right in behind me) is sprinting with all her might down the path?  She's going so fast, she's kicking up dust. That's what squirrels do to a girl!

After rolling in an icy puddle (it's hot work chasing squirrels).

Doing her cute little bunny sproing in an effort to see the critters better.

OMG - now I know the area you were talking about out at Park Lake. Zack disappears in the brown grass there after the pesky little gophers. He never catches one tho he is too busy stalking them and by the time he chases they are down their holes. Great photos of Lacey - they just love gopher season!!!!

Lacey has never caught one here either. She is too distracted by all the chirping that pulls her first in one direction, then another.
